New This Week: A Hermès Picotin, a Chevron Caviar Chanel Flap and a Run of Classic Footwear

A deep week for leather. The intake that landed at Exchange Store over the past seven days leans heavily on structured bags with serious hardware, alongside a run of Chanel and Dior footwear and two pieces of outerwear worth planning a wardrobe around.

Bags with architecture

The Hermès Picotin Lock 18 in Noir Taurillon Clémence arrives as a full set. The relaxed bucket silhouette and one-piece construction make it one of the least fussy bags in the House's line-up, and the gold-plated hardware against black calfskin is about as versatile as a Hermès bag gets. For someone who wants an everyday Hermès rather than an occasion one.

The Chanel 20B Small Classic Double Flap is the standout for collectors — grey chevron caviar with light gold hardware, a combination that turns up far less often than the quilted black. Caviar leather earns its reputation for holding its shape, and the chain can be doubled or dropped depending on the day.

The CELINE Medium Classic Box Bag in camel is smooth box calfskin with the signature push-lock clasp, described as well used with slight scratching to the hardware and leather and minor rubbing at the corners — priced and presented honestly for a bag that has clearly been worn as intended.

The Christian Dior Medium Lady in iridescent lambskin Cannage comes in a blush pink shade that shifts in the light, and arrives with dust bag, authenticity card and certificate. A dressier proposition than the rest of this week's bags.

The Saint Laurent Nano Sac de Jour rounds out the group in croc-embossed black calfskin with silver hardware, made in Italy and in excellent condition. At 22cm across it is genuinely small — a structured evening alternative to a soft clutch.

A strong week for shoes

Four pairs worth attention, three of them Chanel and Dior classics. The Chanel Beige & Black Ballet Flats are the two-tone lambskin pair everyone eventually looks for — the black cap toe does the visual work of shortening the foot, which is why the design has survived decades unchanged.

The Chanel Shiny Calfskin CC Moccasins take the same logic into a loafer, with a textured CC at the vamp in smooth black leather. The Dior Code Loafer is the heavier option of the two — black calfskin, gold-tone hardware, a strap detail and a chunky lug sole with the House's star at the base. It carries denim and tailoring equally well.

For something softer, the Miu Miu Shearling-Lined Suede Mules in ecru arrive with gold-tone hardware and chunky rubber soles. Made in Italy, and the most immediately wearable thing in this week's intake.

Two coats for the turn in the weather

The Celine Teddy Jacket is 100% cotton fleece with Triomphe embroidery at the chest, cut loose with ribbed trims and an elasticated waistband. Easy layering with real House detailing.

The Vivienne Westwood Wool Coat is new with tags in an EU38, 107cm long. A proper coat rather than a jacket, and the kind of Westwood piece that reads as tailoring first.
