A beautiful and distinctive vintage timepiece from 1977, created by renowned British jeweller and watch designer Roy Cecil King.
Roy King was a respected British designer and master craftsman whose work was associated with some of the world’s most prestigious luxury houses, including Cartier, Rolex, Asprey and Garrard. During his early career, he produced fine jewellery and precious-metal pieces for these distinguished names, often without individual maker recognition.
This elegant watch reflects the timeless Art Deco-inspired aesthetic associated with the iconic Cartier Tank, while retaining Roy King’s own distinctive design identity.
Featuring a gold-plated 925 sterling silver case, stepped geometric bezel, white Roman numeral dial, elegant black hands, blue cabochon-style crown and matching ribbed gold-tone bracelet.
Powered by a traditional manual-winding mechanical movement.
The caseback bears the RCK maker’s mark, British sterling silver hallmarks and the 1977 date letter, together with the special Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee commemorative hallmark.
A charming example of 1970s British luxury watch design, combining fine craftsmanship, historical significance and distinctive vintage styling.
The watch shows signs of age and wear consistent with its vintage character. Please refer to the photographs for its cosmetic condition.
An interesting collector’s piece for admirers of Cartier-inspired vintage design, British jewellery craftsmanship and unusual mechanical watches.
